2016-08: A comparison between microkeratome assisted lamellar keratoplasty (MALK) transplantation and conventional anterior mushroom for keratoconus.

In case of severe keratoconus, a corneal transplant may be needed to restore the vision. In the Rotterdam Eye Hospital, corneal transplants have been performed according to the anterior Mushroom method. Since January 2014 however, a new technique has been used, the microkeratome assisted lamellar keratoplasty (MALK).

This study compares the visual outome of MALK and of anterior Mushroom.
