2017-05: Grey-line splitting technique in eyelid tumour resection
Skin tumours involving the anterior lamella of the eyelid are often resected through full thickness excision, thereby sacrificing the posterior lamella. This may result in a more complex eyelid reconstruction and possibly chronic ocular irritation. An alternative technique is grey-line split resection of the anterior lamellar skin in eyelid tumour removal followed by skin graft placement. Possibly, the chance of local tumour recurrence with this technique is higher due to smaller margins at the cranial border of excision. Objective of this study is to describe the technique and analyze the outcome of grey-line split resection of anterior lamellar skin in eyelid tumour removal followed by frozen section control and skin graft placement.
