2008-06: Secondary macular edema after Descemet’s Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK): a prospective, non-comparative study.

Cornea and infections
Outcome research
Investigator Initiated Research
Inclusion open since 6-3-2009

Macular edema (ME) is a possible complication following keratoplastic surgery which affects visual acuity outcome. Because DSAEK has been introduced relatively recently, the incidence of ME and its effect on longterm outcome remains largely unknown. The objective of this prospective, non-comparative trial study is quantification of the incidence of postoperative CME in 30 DSAEK patients. The endpoints are the incidence of CME at one, three and six months after DSAEK.
