2008-07: Aponeurogenic ptosis in soft contact lens wearers
Aponeurogenic blepharoptosis can cause both functional visual loss and esthetic complaints. Surgical correction of the position of the upper eyelid has been shown to improve the visual field significantly and can eliminate esthetic complaints. Rigid permeable contact lenses have proven to be a risk factor for development of aponeurogenic ptosis. The objective of this study is to determine whether soft contact lens wear is a risk factor for development of aponeurogenic ptosis, too.
