2009-08: A structured longitudinal follow-up of 150 patients
This study aims to determine those clinical factors that contribute to the ultimate visual outcome of DSAEK (Descemet’s stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty). The results of this study will enable further development and improvement of the existing DSAEK technique. The objective of this observational cohort study is to determine the pre-, per- and postoperative factors which correlate with a better survival of the cornea transplant and the final best corrected visual acuity (BCVA). The study population comprises 150 Patients who underwent DSAEK surgery in the Rotterdam Eye Hospital between December 2005 and March 2009.
