Cornea and infections
Outcome research
Investigator Initiated Research
Inclusion open since 1-7-2010

Infectious corneal ulceration (CU) is the most severe and only vision threatening complication of contact lens wear. In this study risk factors that correlate with a worse clinical outcome will, in retrospect, be identified. In a retrospective cohort study with 106 cases the investigators will identify clinical presentation, microbiological profile and treatment in contact lens wearers with severe corneal ulcer. Contact lens wearers with severe corneal ulcers, hospitalized between January 2005 and December 2009 in Het Oogziekenhuis Rotterdam will be included in this study.
