2009-21: Detection of glaucoma based on eye movement reactions.
Glaucoma is a progressive disease in which axons from the retinal ganglion cells become affected. In glaucoma occurs mostly peripheral loss of vision. This will only glaucoma diagnosed at a late and often advanced. The current test (gold standard) consist of measuring the intraocular pressure and visual field examination (perimetry). The researchers want to develop a new vision test based on the measurement of eye movements using an eye-tracker. The purpose of this study is to compare the standard perimetry test this new visual field test and secondly to investigate whether local changes in latencies of eye movements can be an early indicator of progression of glaucoma.
